Garett Mims

Garett led the team in victories (10) while competing out of the bullpen. He appeared in 24 games, and struck out a team-high 93 batters in 72.1 innings of work. He struck out season-best eight strikeouts against West Alabama at the Gulf South Conference Tournament in Millington, Tenn. For his hard work, he was named to the Second Team All-Gulf South Conference. He earned a victory with a season-best seven strikeouts against Miles College. As a freshman, he appeared in 14 games, started in six games, and posted a 2.27 ERA in 31.2 innings of work. He struck out five batters in seven innings of work against Miles College.
Mims prepped at nearby Jemison High School competing for coach Jerry Harrison. There, he was a two-time All-Star, All-Region and All-County selection, and was team MVP and team captain.

James “Aaron” Faust competes in his senior season with the Montevallo baseball team. As a sophomore, Aaron was a First Team All-Conference selection, batted .337 in 53 games with a home run and 17 RBI. He was fourth on the team in base hits, collected 18 multi-hit games and went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in a game against Huntingdon College. He also received his degree in general studies at JSCC.
Aaron prepped at Austin High School in Decatur, and competed for coach Alan Watkins.

Ja’Cote competed for coach David Langston at Northwest Shoals Community College, where he was a two-time All-Conference selection. As a sophomore, he batted .348 in 53 games, was second on the team in stolen bases (26) and collected four hits against Jackson State CC. As a freshman, he batted .328 in 42 games.
Ja’Cote competed at Hartselle High School for coach William Booth where he was an All-Area selection for two years and recipient of the Hard Work and Hustle Award. He also batted .402 in his senior year and stole 43 bases (45 attempts).

Jason appeared in 14 games, starting in eight games and posting a 4-2 record. He tossed five scoreless innings with four strikeouts against Martin Methodist College.
Jason is a transfer to UM from Jeff State Community College where he played for coach David Russo. He posted a 2.63 ERA in 65 innings of work as a sophomore.
Jason attended nearby Pelham High School, where he played for coach Mike O’Berry.
